Guildwars Botting. READ!
Heres a link to a thread on QQ about the current and most serious bot in use.
LINK REMOVED - We do not allow links to bots of any kind! This includes indirect links. - Earth
Now if you know about this, don't flame and say its old. Thats not the point, the point is to get this botting stopped. Only Anet can do this so this bot needs showing to as much of the public as possible. Hopefully then, something will get done about it.
P.S If the language on QQ offends you thats tough, its not guru.

This botting stuff has been getting alot of play lately. Report them to ANET per the support pages here:
http://www.guildwars.com/support/default.php
and if they are in have broken the rules as outlined here:
http://www.guildwars.com/support/leg...d_outcomes.php
Then they will be punished. If not then they will not be punished.
And you MAY or MAY NOT be informed about it outlined here:
Those who report a possible rules infraction by another player may be given general information on the outcome of their report, but details may remain confidential.
I think there is an additional area to report bots also. Perhaps someone else can post it.
As for the site/thread report them to ANET.
Not sure how posting it here will get it stopped. You may however expand it use more by giving it more exposure.
Oh you also may get a bunch of peoples accounts hacked... Who knows what malicious software is attached to all that crap. Nice Job!!!

Never saw someone botting so far. Maybe because im only lvl 13 but botting is a very bad idea and anet shall do something against it. It is not acceptable that a pay to play game to has botters and hackers.

yep and the joke is that it is available because of a programming failure, i have been told that this failure is easily correctable, but im not sure
maybe this is one of the reasons why they are working on gw2
and yes , this is what i didnt want to link in my last thread

I used to report bots on a regular basis in Aug Rock, they all got whacked eventually.
Is it ANET no longer cares or the players no longer bother to report them properly due to a belief that ANET will not do anything about it?
Posting it here IMO is most likely going to result in the thread being locked soon with no further action taken. We just cannot post here and expect ANET to clean up the bots or police the internet.
Report them through the correct channels, right now its the best thing to do.
LOL Link removed lock to follow......

it is pretty hard to report pvp bots because the GMs can never be sure they use the program

We should be careful as botters probably spam the idea that ANET doesn't do anything about bots so that ppl won't report them in the first place.
Keep those reports flowing in. Whether it's true or not that Anet doesn't look into some or all is irrelevant. I'll do my job even if my collegues don't.

Learn to play the game properly with 4 accounts on two dual monitor systems. Then you don't need botting apps. Or PUGs. Or a life.
It worked for me.

Report em and let ANET sort it out. If the same group/people keep getting reported I would lay odds that some kind action will be taken.
I could be totally wrong I do not observe PVP much. However there have been recent posts here (since locked) accusing others of botting and both sides had compelling points which seems to prove each others points. I think the best thing is to report em and let ANET sort it out. Otherwise it turns into a flame war....
Last July during wintersday in July the random snowball arena had tons of bots that would stand at the bottom of the cliffs and launch snowballs into the side of the cliff as long as I stood on the upper portion of the cliff. I reported them also.
PVE bots have in the past been pretty easy to spot.

Report them and find out.
Gaile once posted this:

these are pvp bots, not pve
you cant just ban them like pve bots,
1, these are real players
2, it is not easy to detect the bot
3, this is pvp so anet doesnt care
+ imo they dont even believe there are pvp bots and we would get Gaile Gray's answer: "when people are complaining about pvp, I often find that they are failing to win."

The reason this particular method of botting was made public was not so that more people would do it, but more along the lines of why somebody posted the security flaw in the NCSoft website; so that Anet and both the general public is made aware of it. The more people that are aware of the problem, and the more people that complain about it, the better of a chance there is that something will be done about it.
This particular bot was used for interrupting purposes in GvG, giving assured interrupts on crucial skills whether you're playing a mesmer or a ranger. This is a total gamebreaker, as GvG is fragile and relies on fair play all the way around. If you take fair play out of GvG, you take away the whole point of it. If the problem continues, GvG will die out even more than it already is, taking away the biggest competitive point this game has to offer.

I know they are PVP bots thanks!
If ANET cannot tell the difference then you all are screwed and nothing can be done. But if the same player always interupts something at the exact same time over and over again that IMO would warrant a report. ANET then has to make a judgement.
If they feel it is botting then they will do something if not they won't. Not sure what else can be done.
Back to the case of the snowball arena bots I was able to use that to my advantage and lure the bots to one side, while the teammates cleaned up the presents. A true bot is predicitable and can be made to fail in its task.
If the person is monitoring it and changes it behavior then it would indeed be extremely hard to detect.
I see that the fuel has gotten here

And this behavior is totally deserving of a ban.
All that I am saying is that players need to make a tight case, and that "innocent until proven guilty" needs to be the proof standard. Otherwise this will just degenerate into a witch hunt, and those are always easily manipulated to serve political purposes.

I'm not personally advocating a witch hunt for any pvp bots. Something much better than this could possibly done. If you read the qq forums topic, there is a lengthy discussion as to possible solutions that could eradicate these bots altogether. Whether these methods are reasonable, easy, or feasible at all I'm not sure.
Also, people still seem to be confusing these pvp bots for computers that play the entire game for you. In this case, they are not. All this is is a program that recognizes the pixel changes in a particular skill and reacts for the player automatically by using one of the interrupt skills on your bar. You still play through the match otherwise.
